Vehicle Tracking Fleet Management with MERN

Managing a fleet efficiently requires real-time tracking, seamless route planning, and structured data management. The system needed to allow users to select a starting and destination point, assign a vehicle and driver, and generate a clear and optimized route. Additionally, fleet administrators required an intuitive dashboard with graphical insights into fleet status, route details, and customer activity. Ensuring smooth data processing, notifications, and export functionalities were also key challenges.

The application was developed using the MERN stack (MongoDB, Express.js, React, Node.js) to provide a scalable and efficient architecture. The React Leaflet library was integrated to handle user input for start and destination locations, enabling interactive map-based route selection. Once a route is created, relevant details are stored and made accessible from the routes page. An automated email notification system ensures that customers receive updates upon route creation. Additionally, the system allows users to save and download all created routes in an Excel format, improving data accessibility and record-keeping.

The fleet management system now provides an intuitive and efficient way to create and manage routes. Customers can seamlessly select their routes, assign vehicles and drivers, and receive instant updates. The admin dashboard displays fleet statistics and route statuses with graphical insights, improving decision-making. With the ability to store and export routes, fleet operators can maintain comprehensive records, leading to improved efficiency and service quality.
